It was meant to be for this happy couple, after 5 years apart they found each other again and after just two more dates, surprised their families with the exciting news. Our Real Weddings in London story tells all....

Daroon and Dejwar first met through a friend but didn't keep in touch as they decided to focused on their careers. So, when Daroon moved to Dubai for work 4 years later and wanted to stay connected with family and friends through social media, Dejwar made contact and confessed his love for her.  Unknown to Daroon, he'd been waiting all that time for another chance.

A chance for love

This time they kept in touch every day for three months and when Dejwar made the trip to Dubai, it would be the first time they'd seen each other in nearly 5 years!

During a visit to the gold souk Dejwar made the proposal and they designed their rings there and then. "It was the most amazing moment ever, we were both in tears and was so happy that we made this decision and there was no way back. No one in our families knew, so we were both very excited, nervous and could not believe we had made this decision together."

On their return to London a few months later, the marriage ceremony was held at the family home "As we are both Muslim and Kurdish we had our Nikah.. both families were very happy and emotional."

Real weddings in London celebrations

The celebrations for this London Wedding were held at la Royale Banqueting suites.  "I knew the space was great and knew from first look it would be a great place to have our wedding, as I wanted a big dance floor and enough space to fit 300 people." said Daroon.

The dream dress

Daroon wore the "Callista" wedding dress which she bought from the Wed2B Bridal Shop in Bromley London.

"I then tried it on and knew it was the one, I felt like a mermaid, it was made perfect for my body and long hair. It just felt so right after trying it on I knew that moment that it was the one."

Asked about her experience at our Bromley bridal shop, Daroon said "Absolutely amazing, the staff were so helpful."

In fact, "Callista" had just arrived in store, "If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have found my dress."

Luckily, following a week of rain the weather was amazing so the couple took time for pictures at the park, before heading to the reception where 300 guests were waiting. They entered to traditional drums and exchanged rings.

They chose Jason Mars ‘I won’t give up’ for their first dance, Daroon said "this song really reflected our relationship of not giving up and my husband had decided to choose this as it reminded him not to give up on me until the day I had given him a chance"

With a simple theme of white and creamy colours accented with classic silver candle holders for centre pieces, white flowers adorned through the entrance.

Guests travelled from as far away as Mexico, Dubai, Sweden and across the UK making this celebration truly special. With a live band playing their favourite songs the entire room danced the night away.

Daroon's top tip:

"Do not stress and try and enjoy every moment, as long as your dress and grooms suit is ready, everything else will go accordingly. Go with the flow so you can actually enjoy the day."
